The Road to Serfdom

Friedrich A. Hayek

Written in 1944 as a warning about the dangers of socialism and central planning, Hayek argues that any planned economy inevitably leads to authoritarianism because the information needed to run one is too dispersed and complex for any central authority. The most influential work on both Thatcher and Reagan, and the intellectual foundation of modern neoliberalism.
