Our review

Romuald Fons is one of Spain's most recognised digital content creators, with a large audience on YouTube and other platforms where he combines content on business, marketing, and personal strategy. In this book, published in 2020, he translates his methodology into written form: how to build digital income streams, monetise one's own knowledge, and grow personal wealth from scratch. The tone is motivational and approachable, with abundant autobiographical examples that make the text very accessible. The central proposition is that one's own knowledge and skills are the most scalable asset available to most people, and that the digital economy has lowered the barriers to monetising them. The most legitimate criticism of the book is that, in prioritising accessibility, it sometimes oversimplifies. The business models it describes require sustained work, competition in saturated markets, and a risk tolerance that the book tends to underestimate. It is a stimulating starting point for those considering entrepreneurship in the digital environment, as long as it is complemented with readings of greater strategic depth.

Key takeaways

• One's own knowledge is a scalable asset that the digital economy allows to be monetised with historically low entry barriers.
• Building a loyal audience before monetising is, for Fons, the most important strategic principle in digital business.
• Diversifying income streams reduces personal economic vulnerability in a way similar to how diversification reduces portfolio risk.
• Consistency in content creation or digital business development matters more than initial perfection.

Fact

The book was published in 2020, a year in which the number of content creators generating significant income on platforms such as YouTube experienced unprecedented growth globally.
